Whats New

No big changes for 2008 but a few improvements on the 2007 set up.

Showers

More showers

Firstly there will be more of those excellent showers. Unfortunately they all have to be in the same area, this is dictated by power and water supply, and adequate drainage into the sites holding tanks.

Dance Marquee

Dance Marquee

The festival will be using the same “Clearspan” marquee as last year but this year it will have proper glazed doors on each entrance. More attention will be paid to dance floor levels and the floors will be treated with “slip stop” to prevent accidents. The ambient lighting will be improved as will the stage lighting.

Main Stage Marquee

Main Stage Marquee

Again, we will be using that wonderful “Scola” tensile marquee we used last year. To prevent the seated audience have their view interrupted when people at the front stand up, (in the moshing pit) we have decided to increase the height of the stage and use crowd control barriers behind the standing area. This will create a line of demarcation and the first seated rows will be positioned three metres behind the barriers. This means if anyone stands up, all the seated audience will see straight over their heads.

Bars

Bars

The main tented bar will be bigger and have more staff than last year. It will also have more choice, with wines, spirits and soft drinks as well as a wider selection of real ales and cider. All of the other bars will offer more selection.

Camping Zones

When people first arrived on the festival site last year they were confused about where the Quiet, Late Night and Family areas were situated. All of these areas will have colour coded flags in 2008.

Sabrina Marquee

Our Sabrina marquee which is used for open mic competitions and some of the singarounds, will be a big top marquee giving better site lines and much better ambience. The marquee position will be changed and this year it will be sited just outside the GKN pavilion, right in the middle of the action.

Hope House

The festival has decided to adopt Hope House as its charity partner for 2008, and to show support will be donating £1 from every adult weekend ticket sold, to their music therapy department.

Hope House is a respite care home for children with terminal illness. The festival organisers have visited Hope House which is a marvelous modern building with extraordinary facilities for the children and their parents.

It would be impossible not to be impressed by the kindness and understanding demonstrated by the staff who work so hard to bring happiness to so many children in their care.
